Welcome to the North Sea Ballast Water Opportunity Project
We strongly believe that all information concerning ballast water should be easily accessible to understand the problem and to find a suitable solution. This includes professional users, but also the neighbour who probably even does not know what ballast water is.This website is set up to help you to navigate easily through the large amount of information about ballast water and the results of the project. To help a hand, on the left hand side there is a ‘metro line’ system. Clicking on the lines will address different user groups and guide you through the several ‘stations’ with the corresponding information.
The North Sea Ballast Water Opportunity (NSBWO) project is a joint coopera
tion with over forty partners and sub-partners, including governments, industry and scientific centres. All are located in the North sea Region. This project aims to reach regional cohesion, innovation and develop future strategies in ballast water policies and ballast water management. The project is co-funded by the INTERREG IVB North SeaRegion Programme of the European Regional Development Fund and is coordinated by NIOZ Royal Netherlands Institute for Sea Research.The Ballast Water Team
